? THE REVIEW
CJ Taylor has had music on SoundCloud for nearly 13 years, so when I listen to this record, I have to look at the bigger picture. After spending that much time putting music out, it's important to look at how your sound fits into today's music market.
When I listen to “Bigger,” the overall track isn't bad, but it's not quite hitting the mark either. The production has an outdated feel, and I believe the flow needs more work to make the record sound stronger and more current.
CJ, I'm not saying you can't make good music. I'm saying there's room to grow. Music is always changing, and artists have to keep developing their sound if they want to compete in today's market.
Would I play “Bigger” on my radio show? YES! ?
And here's why.
I believe independent artists need opportunities to get their music heard. Sometimes, hearing your own record played on the radio gives you a different perspective. You may hear things you didn't notice before — how the vocals sit in the mix, whether the flow works, or whether the production sounds competitive with other records being played.
Radio exposure can help artists hear where their music stands in the market and identify what needs improvement. Not every song is a hit right out of the gate, and sometimes you have to work out the kinks before you get there.
CJ Taylor, keep working. Revisit the sound, sharpen that flow, and keep developing your craft. I would like to hear what you come back with next.
At THE MIC, we're giving you an honest opinion because the goal should always be to help independent music get better.

“Bigger”
DJ Franchise | THE MIC
DJ Franchise's verdict: The track has potential, but the sound feels dated and the flow needs improvement. I'd give it radio play because artists deserve opportunities to be heard, and honest feedback can help them grow.
