Let me be real with this one. “FIREPLACE” is not a bad track, but I wouldn't call it radio-ready just yet. The record gives me more of a freestyle feeling, and honestly, I think that vibe could work really well on a Hip Hop mixtape.
Would I play this on my mixtape? YES! ?
I like the vibe of this track. I love hearing independent artists bring that raw, underground energy to their music. There's something about a record that doesn't sound like everybody else that can catch my attention. KeKe The D.o.n has flow, and I can hear the potential in what he's doing.
But here's where I want to challenge him.
I wish KeKe had turned this into a complete song.
The vibe is there, and the flow gives me something to work with. I'd love to hear him take this same energy and build a full record around it. Give us a stronger song structure, a hook people can remember, and something that makes listeners want to run the track back.
I also have to be real about something I'm noticing with independent music. Some artists aren't taking enough time to study what's happening in today's music market. I'm not saying everybody needs to follow trends or copy what another artist is doing. Absolutely not! Being original is important.
But there's a difference between being independent and leaving potential on the table. Artists need to understand how songs are structured, what makes listeners connect with a record, and how to take a great vibe and turn it into a finished song.
I love independent Hip Hop. I love that raw, underground sound. I love artists who aren't afraid to be themselves. I just want to see artists take that talent and push it further.
KeKe The D.o.n, I hear the flow, and I like the direction. Keep that independent spirit, but give us more! Take “FIREPLACE” back into the creative process and see what you can build from it.
This is the type of record I could see finding a home in the mixtape game, and I'm giving it a chance because I believe discovering new music is part of what being a real DJ is all about.
Sometimes, you don't need a perfect record to hear potential. You just need to hear something that makes you want to listen.
“FIREPLACE”

DJ Franchise's verdict: Raw, independent Hip Hop with a vibe I like. The flow shows potential, and I'd play it on a mixtape. My biggest wish is that KeKe turns this freestyle-style track into a fully developed song with a memorable hook and stronger structure.
